Oregon Telecommunications Coordinating Council announces Excellence in Telecommunications Awards
Newport, OR. – (October 19, 2006) – At the annual Oregon Connections Telecommunications Conference held in Newport this year, Greg Palser of CoastCom, Inc. was named the recipient of the 2006 Excellence in Telecommunication Partnerships Award.

Nominated by Dr. Ed Parker for his work with CoastNet, the award is for a public / private partnership made up of two or more organizations, governments, and/or companies that have jointly developed an innovative telecommunications partnership for the purpose of providing improved access, reliability and/or affordability for underserved and rural communities in Oregon.
Greg is president of CoastCom; a Newport based Competitive Local Exchange Carrier whose business is providing telecommunications services to health care, educational, government and businesses in rural Oregon markets. With fiber networks in Tillamook, Lincoln, Lane and Douglas Counties, CoastCom’s other public partners include School Districts in Tillamook, Lincoln and Douglas Counties, Tillamook Lightwave, Samaritan Health Services, Lower Umpqua Hospital, and the cities of Newport and Toledo.
CoastCom is an Authorized Channel Partner for LS Networks, whose state wide network coverage reaches nearly 75% percent of Oregon business addresses. LS Networks’ product suite of Wide Area Ethernet, Ethernet over SONET, VLAN, Wavelength, TDM and IP services are available in over 43 Points of Presence (POPS) in 26 Oregon cities.
